Study Cairo

 

Day 1. Arrive in Cairo
The Real Egypt Tours' representative will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport and transfer you to your hotel and over night in Cairo.
 
Day 2: Giza
After breakfast we commence our study tour with an excursion to the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, the Sphinx and finally the Valley Temple and the Solar Boat Museum. In the evening there is a visit to the world famous Khan el-Khalili market (Souk).
 
Day 3: The Egyptian Museum
After breakfast we visit the Egyptian Museum where you can see the great pharaonic treasures including those of Tutankhamen.  We return to the hotel and over night in Cairo.
 
Day 4: Memphis and Saqqara
After breakfast we drive to Memphis (the ancient capital of Egypt) followed by a visit to Saqqara.  Also included is a visit to the Imhotep Museum.  Lunch and then return to the hotel.  In the evening there is the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.
 
Day 5: El Lisht and Dahshur
After breakfast we visit El Lisht followed by Dahshur. Dahshur is  the area south of Giza and was used as a necropolis by the inhabitants of Memphis at different times.  Return to the hotel and overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 6: Old Cairo and Coptic Cairo.
After breakfast we will visit Old Cairo where you can explore the medieval mosques, markets and much more. From here we go to Coptic Cairo which was a stronghold for Christianity in Egypt until the Islamic era. Here are the old churches, the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the Coptic Museum. We then return to the hotel and overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 7: Alexandria.
After breakfast we drive to Alexandria, the second capital of Egypt, founded by Alexander the Great. In Alexandria we will visit Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th Century, by Sultan Quaitbay on the spot where Alexandria's ancient lighthouse once stood. Visit the grand Montazah Palace, which combines Turkish and Florentine architectural styles and after this the new and much acclaimed Alexandria Library. We will visit the Roman Cemetery, cut out of the rock, the Catacombs.  Return to Cairo and overnight.

Day 8: The final departure
After breakfast our representative will transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your final departure.
