Day Tour 1: Giza Plateau Tour Program (the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, Memphis and Saqqara) with lunch. We commence our day by visiting Memphis - the ancient capital of Egypt where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx are situated. From here we continue to visit Sakkara - the Step Pyramid of Zoser. After lunch we will visit the old Pyramid of the Giza Plateau. There will be free time for photographing and camel riding. We continue to see The Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Day Tour 2: Saqqara and Memphis with lunch. Saqqara is 27Km southwest of Cairo. In this tour is included a visit to the famous Step Pyramid of Sakkara (The first proper pyramid built for the King Zoser - it is considered the evolution of the Pyramids from the simple Mastaba to the Pyramid in its known form). We follow this with a visit to the Pyramids of Unas and Oser-Kaf - the Mastaba. Tomb of Mereruka, Ti and Pta-Hotep (carved and painted tombs). From here we travel to Memphis - the ancient capital of Egypt where the Colossal Statue of Ramses II and the Great Alabaster Sphinx are situated. This is followed by lunch. Day Tour 3: The Egyptian Museum and Citadel (with lunch) this tour includes a visit to the world famous Egyptian Museum (one of the most famous museums, in the world, filled with a magnificent collection of treasures including mummies, sarcophagi and the fabulous treasures of Tutankhamen's tomb) We follow this with a visit to The Citadel. The Citadel comprises a number of important monuments which are: The Alabaster Mosque and Mohammed Ali Pasha Palace and provides a panoramic view of Cairo from the citadel. Followed by lunch. Day Tour 4: The Egyptian Museum and Giza Pyramids with lunch. Start your full day tour visiting the Giza Plateau, to visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren and Merinos. Cheops is the most colossal ever built. Next is a close up look at the Sphinx; a huge funeral complex guarded by the legendary lion body with the face of King Chephren. Followed by lunch. After this we travel to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. On display is a rare collection of 5,000 years of art - the largest, and most precious, collection of Egyptian art in the world. Over 250,000 genuine artifacts are on display - including an exhibit dedicated to the Tutankhamen collection of treasures of gold and jewellery as it was enclosed in his tomb for over 3,500 years before it was discovered in the 1922's when his tomb was excavated. Day Tour 5: Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo) We start the day by visiting the old part of Cairo. Egypt was one of the first countries to embrace Christianity. We visit the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, The Hanging Church and the Coptic Museum. This museum has a large collection of Coptic arts and antiquities dating from 300 - 1000 A.D.. We will also visit the old Jewish Synagogue - the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Day Tour 6. Old Cairo and The Citadel We begin our day by visiting the old part of Cairo. We ill see the Church of Abu-Sergah and St. Barbara, the Hanging Church and the Coptic Museum and the old Jewish Ben Ezra Synagogue. After this we visit The Citadel. The Citadel comprises of a number of important monuments namely: the Alabaster Mosque and Mohammed Ali Pasha Palace. From here there is a wonderful panoramic view of Cairo Day Tour 7: Sunset or Sunrise Camel Ride Early morning take a horse/camel journey into the desert and watch how the first light reveals the ancient Sphinx and the Pyramids( this includes a 2 hour horse or camel ride). This is a trip for those who wish to appreciate the magnificent wonder of the Pyramids and Sphinx and one that you will remember for ever. Day Tour 8: Islamic and Christian Cairo Your tour of Islamic Cairo begins with the 12th century Citadel of Saladin. Within the walls of this medieval fortress is the Alabaster Mosque and the Qasr El-Gawahara, or Jewel Palace, built by Mohamed Ali - on a site that was once occupied by Mameluke and Ottoman Palaces. From here you will visit the Mosque of Ibn Tulan which was built in 876 A.D. and is the oldest original mosque in Cairo. We continue to Christian Old Cairo where the Romans constructed the Fortress of Babylon. Built over the ruins of the two towers of this fortress is the church of St. Mary or El-Moallaqah. The translation of El-Moallaqah is overhanging, or suspended, hence the reason why this church is called 'The Hanging Church'. Visit the church of Abu Sergah founded at the end of the 4th Century - it stands on a crypt that is said to have sheltered the Holy Family during their flight to Egypt. Your tour concludes with a visit to the Coptic Museum which contains the world's richest collection of Coptic art and treasures. Day Tour 9: Saqqara, Abu Sir and Dahshur This tour is for Pyramid and archaeology enthusiasts. We begin by visiting the Abu Sir Pyramids of the principal 5th Dynasty Pharaohs, namely Sahore, Niuserre and Neferirkare. The vast Tomb of Ptahshepses has been recently restored and well worth seeing. From here visit the oldest of all Pyramids - the Step Pyramid and funeral complex of the 3rd Dynasty Pharaoh Djoser which dates back to 2500 BC. We continue through the desert to visit the Red and Bent Pyramids at Dahshur - dating back to the 4th Dynasty. Day Tour 10: Pharaonic Village and Khan El-Khalili This is a visit to a Pharaonic Village. A beautiful trip which includes a show of Ancient Egyptian daily work with people wearing Pharaonic clothes. From here we visit the famous Khan El-Khalili souk (bazaar). The most fascinating of places displaying a wealth of Middle Eastern goods such as spices, perfumes, gold, silver, carpets, brass, copper ware, ceramics to name a few. Lunch follows: Day Tour 11: Alexandria - the Greco-Roman Museum, the Roman Theatre and the Catacombs. Transportation from Cairo-Alexandria-Cairo is by air conditioned bus. We begin with a visit to the Greco-Roman Museum. This museum covers the period from 3rd Century BC to the 7th Century AD and is filled with Mummies, Hellenistic statues, busts of Roman Emperors, Tanagra figurines and early Christian antiquities. From here we progress to the Roman Theatre - a theatre with with marble seating for up to 800 spectators; galleries, selection of mosaic flooring and a pleasure garden surrounded by Roman villas and baths. After lunch we visit the Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa - which are tombs on three levels. It also includes The Triclinium where relatives used to sit on stone benches to feed the dead. This centre has reliefs of bearded serpents. Also inside there are 2nd Century AD statues of Sobek and Anubis wearing Roman armour. Finally we visit the Montazah Garden and the world famous Alexandria Library. Day Tour 12: Oasis of El Fayoum A small town in the south west area of Cairo which has a rich historical background of ancient civilisation. You will visit Lake Qaroon: an area which covers 200 Sq.Km. and i ideal for fishing, duck shooting, rowing and swimming. The ducks flock there escaping from the cold European climate. There are about 200 waterwheels which are used to draw underground water to the surface and irrigate agricultural lands. Ein Sellen - is a small village with beautiful scenery, lush greenery, thermal waters and a new hotel. We visit the archaeological sites of the Pyramid of Amenemhat lll - one of the kings of the 12th Dynasty dating back to the 19th Century BC about 14 Km from Fayoum. There is also the village of Ahoom lll where the Pyramid of Senouseret ll is situated - one of the kings of the 12th Dynasty. Day Tour 13: One day visit to Luxor by air -( flight not included ) We travel to Luxor- by air - journey time around 1 hour. In Luxor you will be taken to visit the West Bank of the Nile namely, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Menmon. In the afternoon we will visit the East Bank and tour both Luxor and Karnak Temples. Return by air to Cairo. Day Tour 14: Islamic Tour to Ekl Azhar University, the Islamic Museum and Mosques. We travel by car to the millenary Islamic University of El Azhar followed by a visit to the Islamic Museum where, amongst many other treasures, are housed an invaluable collection of antique mosque lamps. The tour continues to Ibn touloun Mosque with the annexed Anderson Museum of Islamic Art. Day Tour 15: Beni Hassan (El Menya) Leave the hotel by private car to Abu-Korkas we then cross the River Nile from that point by motor launch. We ride by donkey to the rock tombs of Beni-Hassan where interesting paintings of the Old and Middle Kingdom are visited. We return by the same mode of transport. Day Tour 16: Tall Amarna, Ashmounein and Touna El Gebel Early morning departure from your hotel, by car, to Tell Ararna. Here we take a tractor to the Rock Tombs of El Amarna - once Queen Nefertiti and King Akhenatons' capital. Visit the three main tombs facing the valley. ( To be able to see these tombs you will be transported around them by either jeep or donkey). We cross the Nile again to the West Bank and by car proceed to Touna El Gebel - arrival should be around noon. A lunch picnic basked will be served at a rest house. From here you will visit the Temple of Petosiris, the Roman Wheel, Baboons and Ibis Cemetaries. Tour 17: Cairo by Night 1. This is a city tour all around Cairo at night. One of the most fascinating cities in the world. Like many large cities it never sleeps. Allow yourself to be taken under the spell of this wonderful place. Tour 18: Cairo by Night 2. A magnificent excursion by boat over the Nile Rover with spectacular views by night. There are Belly-Dance shows, and Eastern music band and an open Buffet Dinner. Tour 19: Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids: A dramatic fusion of light and music recounting the story of antiquity which takes one back to events of ancient history. the show is presented in eight languages: Arabic, English, French, German, Runnian, Japanese, Spanish and Italian.
