Upper Egypt Cruise

 

Day 1: Arrive Luxor / Nile Cruise
The Real Egypt Tours' representative will meet and assist you at Luxor International Airport. You will then be transferred to your cruise ship for check in. Overnight in Luxor.
 
Day 2: Luxor Sightseeing
After breakfast visit the West Bank of the River Nile in Luxor: the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Return to the ship for lunch. We then sail to Edfu via Esna Lock. Afternoon Tea will be served. Dinner and overnight in Edfu.
 
Day 3: Edfu / Kom Ombo
After breakfast your guide will accompany you to visit the Horus temple at Edfu. Return to the ship and sail to Kom Ombo. After lunch there is a visit to the temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo. We continue sailing to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.
 
Day 4: Aswan Sightseeing
After breakfast we can visit the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and the majestic Philae temple dedicated to the goddess Isis.  After lunch you can visit the Botanical Gardens by sailing on the Nile in a felucca. Overnight on board in Aswan.
 
Day 5: Abu Simbel / Lake Nasser Cruise
After breakfast check out from the boat and fly/or drive to Abu Simbel. Check in to your Lake Nasser cruise ship. After lunch on board ship visit the twin temples of Abu Simbel. These twin temples are not only a symbol of Ramses ll great love for his wife Nefetari but also a symbol of the international campaign for the salvage of the Nubian monuments. In the evening there is the Sound and Light Show at Abu Simbel temple followed by dinner and overnight.
 
Day 6: Sightseeing.
For those who would like to watch the spectacular sunrise at Abu Simbel we would be delighted to accompany you on an early morning visit to the temples. Breakfast is served whilst sailing to Kasr Ibrim. During the Pharanoic period this hill was dominated by a citadel and throughout the Medieval era.  There are still, to this day, some Roman arches remaining. Lunch will be served whilst sailing to Amada.  There is a visit to the temple of Amada of the XVlll dynasty - built during the reign of Thutmose lll, Amenophis lll and Thutmose lV.  Also visit the hemi-spocs of Derr dedicated by Ramses ll to the rising sun and the tomb of Penout, Viceroy of Nubia. We then have a relaxing afternoon sail to Wadi El Seboua.
 
Day 7: Sightseeing
Morning visit to Wadi El Seboua. This temple was dedicated by Ramses ll to the two gods Amon Ra and Ra Harmakis. The temple of Dakka was dedicated to Thoth the god of divine wisdom, lord of times and science and master of literature.  Visit the Greco-Roman temple of Maharakka. Sail to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.
 
Day 8: Disembarkation / Kalabsha Temple.
After breakfast check out from the ship. There is the opportunity to visit Kalabsha temple with its Pharaonic aspect remodelled into the Greco-Roman style and dedicated to the god Mandoulis.  Also visit the hemi-speos of Beit El Wali erected by Ramses ll in the beginning of his High Reign - erected to honour the goddess Isis. After this visit our representative will transfer you to Aswan airport for final departure.  There is also the choice of taking a first class compartment by train to Luxor.
