Abu Simbel / Aswan 1

 

Day 1: Arrival at Abu Simbel
Board the boat at Abu Simbel. Lunch will be served. Visit the Abu Simbel temples. These temples are not only a symbol of Ramses ll great love for his wife Nefetari but also of the international campaign for the salvage of the Nubian monuments when the Great Dam was built and Lake Nasser created. A welcome cocktail will be served before the Sound and Light Show at Abu Simbel temple followed by a candlelight dinner on board and overnight.
 
Day 2: Sightseeing
For those who would like to watch the spectacular sunrise at Abu Simbel it would be our pleasure to take you for an early morning visit to the temples. Lunch is served whilst sailing to Kasr Ibrim.  Kasr Ibrim is the sole vestige of the distant past of Nubia in its original location. During the Pharaonic period this hill was dominated by a citadel and throughout Medieval times.  The summit of the hill was dominated by a cathedral of which we can still admire some Roman arches. We then sail to Amada. Cocktails will be served on the top deck overlooking the illuminated temples of Amada. Overnight.
 
Day 3: Sightseeing
Visit the temple of Amada of the XVlll Dynasty - built during the reign of Thohotmosis lll, Amenophis lll and Thohotmosis lV.  Also visit the hemi-spocs of Derr - dedicated by Ramses ll to the rising sun and the Tomb of Penout, Viceroy of Nubia. A relaxing afternoon sail to Wadi El Seboua. Cocktails, dinner and overnight at Wadi El Seboua.
 
Day 4: Sightseeing
Morning visit to Wadi El Seboua.  The Temple of Wadi El Seboua was dedicated by Ramses ll to the two gods Amon Ra and Ra Harmakis.  The temple of Dakka dedicated to Thoth the god of divine wisdom, lord of times and science and master of literature. Visit the Greco-Roman temple of Maharakka.
Sail to Aswan crossing the Tropic of Cancer.
After lunch visit the Kalabsha temple with its Pharaonic aspect remodelled into the Greco-Roman style and dedicated to the god Mandoulis.  Also visit the hemi-speos of Beit El Wali erected by Ramses ll in the beginning of his High Reign - erected to honour the Goddess Isis. Overnight in Aswan
 
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast disembarkation.  Our representative wll transfer you to Aswan Airport for you departure.
