Dahabiya Holiday

 

Day 1. Arrive Egypt
Real Egypt representative will meet you at Cairo International Airport and make your procedure through Immigration, Visa Control and Passport Control, luggage collection a mere formality. You will then be transferred to your 5* hotel in Cairo. Check in and overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 2: Pyramids Tour.
After breakfast you will start your tour beginning with a tour of Memphis: this was the ancient capital of Old Egypt during the Old Kingdom - founded by King Menes.  From here you will proceed to the Step Pyramid at Sakkara which was designed by the architect Imhotep, for his master, King Zoser. After lunch you will visit the enchanting Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykeriunus at Giza.  From there you will visit the Great Sphinx - the head of a pharaoh with a lion's body which dates back to the time of Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren.  Overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 3: Egyptian Museum
After breakfast we will visit the world famous Egyptian Museum that exhibits the treasures of Tutankhamen among many other fascinating Pharanoic artifacts. After lunch we will visit the Hanging Church and Abu Sirga Church in the Coptic Area of Cairo. Return to your hotel and overnight.
 
Day 4: Dahabiya Cruise / Luxor
After breakfast you will check out from your hotel in Cairo to be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Luxor where you will embark on your 5* luxury Dahabiya Nile Cruise in Luxor for a relaxing week's sailing the Nile upon a luxuriously appointed Dahabiya. After lunch enjoy an excursion to the West Bank for a visit to the burial places of the Pharaohs - the Valley of the Kings - where Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922.  Continue to the temple of queen Hatshepsut , the Temple of Medinet Habu and the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight moored on the Nile banks of Luxor.
 
Day 5: Dahabiya Cruise / luxor
After breakfast visit the magnificent temple of Amon-Ra at Karnak with its vast hypostyle hall of 137 columns followed by the imposing 28th Dynasty Luxor Temple. Overnight moored in Luxor as we want you to relax and just soak up the energies of Egypt.
 
Day 6: Dahabyia Cruise / Esna
Today will be a leisurely day as after breakfast we will commence sailing to Esna where your Dahabiya will moor overnight.
 
Day 7: Dahabiya Cruise / Edfu
This morning you will sail to Edfu and visit the wonderfully preserved temple there. Overnight moored besides a Nile island.
 
Day 8: Dahabiya Cruise / Kom Ombo
Today you will sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the crocdile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus.
Overnight moored beside a Nile island.
 
Day 9: Dahabiya Cruise / Aswan
A leisurely day sailing to Aswan where the Dahabiya moors overnight.
 
Day 10: Dahabiya Cruise / Aswan sightseeing
Today you will visit the Aswan High Dam (completed in 1971); the Old Dam (completed in 1902). You will also visit the Philae Temple - dedicated to the godess Isis - a structure rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser at the time of the High Dam's construction.
 
Day 11. Dahabiya Cruise / Return to Cairo
Breakfast aboard the Dahabiya followed by disembarkation. Transfer to Aswan Airport for departure to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo transfer to your hotel and overnight.
 
Day 12: Final departure.
Breakfast then transfer to Cairo International Airport for departure and sad goodbyes.
