Cairo & Western Desert & Nile Cruise


Day 1: Arrive Egypt
 
Real Egypt Tour's representative will meet and assist you at Cairo International Airport and then transfer you to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 2: Pyramids Tour
 
After breakfast you will be taken to visit Memphis - the first capital of Egypt. From here we will proceed to the Sakkara complex to visit the Step Pyramid - this was designed by the architect Imhotep for his master King Zoser. Then Lunch, After lunch enjoy an excursion to visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus followed by the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. Overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 3: El Bahariya Oasis
 
After breakfast we travel by 4 x 4 vehicle to the Bahariya Oasis.  Walk around the old village of the Oasis and visit the the palm groves and fruit trees. There is a local tour to the hill top ruin "the English House", the Temple of Alexander" and the "Golden Valley of Mummies". Overnight in Bahariya.
 
Day 4: White Desert & Black Desert
 
Safari  trip to the White Desert passing through the Black Desert and the Valley of El Haize with its hot spring.  Stop off to see the quartz crystal at Crystal Mountain and the volcanic rocks and petrified wood in the Valley of Agabat. 
 
Upon arrival at the White Desert there is a tour to the amazing rock formations. Watch the sunset and camp under the stars in this paradise of tranquility.  Bedouin dinner in the desert. Overnight in camp.
 
Day 5: El Farafra & El Dakhla
 
We travel to Farafra Oasis and tour around to see the palm groves and hot springs. There is also the old village of traditional mud-brick houses and local artist Badr's Mud Brick Museum.  We then travel to the lush Dakhla Oasis which is surrounded by rose-coloured cliffs. Overnight at Dahkhla Oasis.
 
Day 6: El Kharga Oasis
 
Enjoy visiting the Roman temple of Deir El Hagar in its serene surroundings and the Roman burial ground of Mezzawaqqah. We then travel to El Kharga Oasis - also famous for its hot springs.  Visit the Oasis' Ethnic Museum. Then visit the Roman Temple of Hibis as well as the early Christian cemetery, with its chapels painted with murals, at Bagawat. visit the Temple of Dush, which is dedicated to Isis and Serapis, and see Baris Oasis. Overnight in Kharga.
 
Day 7: Arrive Luxor.
 
After breakfast you will be transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to Luxor. Check into your hotel and overnight in Luxor.
 
Day 8: Luxor and Karnak Temples.
 
After breakfast you will be transferred to you 5* superior Nile cruise ship. In the afternoon you will be accompanied on a wonderful tour to visit the East Bank of the Nile in Luxor namely the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.  Return to the Nile cruise ship for afternoon tea and dinner.  Overnight on board ship docked in Luxor.
 
Day 9: Luxor - The West Bank of the Nile
 
After breakfast you will be taken to visit the West Bank of the River Nile in Luxor namely; the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut's Temple at El Deir El Bahari, and the Colossi of Memnon.  Return to the boat for lunch. In the afternoon we sail to Edfu, via the Esna Lock.  Dinner and overnight on board ship at Edfu.
 
Day 10: Edfu and Kom Ombo
 
After breakfast you will be taken to visit the Horus Temple at Edfu. Return to the boat and cruise to Kom Ombo with lunch on board.  After lunch visit the double temple at Kom Ombo dedicated to the two gods Sobek and Harories.  Return to the ship and sail to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.
 
Day 11: Aswan - Abu Simbel
 
After breakfast you will be transferred to Aswan airport to fly to Abu Simbel which is one of the most important sites in Egypt. Abu Simbel was built by Ramses ll to show to the world his great love for his wife Nefetari. We return to Abu Simbel airport to fly back to Aswan and return to the boat for lunch.
 
In the afternoon there is the opportunity to relax sailing in a felucca on the Nile around the Botanical Garden, view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island.
 
In the evening take the motor boat to enjoy the fascinating Sound and Light Show at Philae Temple. We then return to the boat for dinner and overnight in Aswan.
 
Day 12: Aswan Sightseeing and Return to Cairo
 
After breakfast check out from the boat. Visit the High Dam, the Old Dam, the Granite Quarries where the Unfinished Obelisk, commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, is situated and the Temple of Isis at Philae.
 
After lunch take an amazing tour to a Nubian village by motor boat - on the way you will see the natural islands of Aswan.
 
We then return to collect our luggage from the boat and transfer to Aswan Airport to fly to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 13: Cairo
 
After breakfast there is the opportunity to visit the world famous Cairo Museum which holds more than 120,000 objects of antiquity including the famous Death Mask and treasures of Tutankhamen.  After lunch you will be returned to your hotel to relax. In the evening there is the opportunity to visit the famous Souk of Khan el Khalili where you will see, feel and breathe The Real Egypt. Return to your hotel and overnight in Cairo.
 
Day 14: Final Departure.
 
Breakfast and transfer to Cairo International Airport for departure.
