The Valley of the Queens is a place where the wives of the Pharaohs were buried in ancient times. Many princes and princesses were also buried there together with various members of the nobility. The tombs of these individuals were maintained by mortuary priests who performed daily rituals and provided offerings and prayers for the deceased nobility. This valley is located near the Valley of the Kings (on the west bank of the Nile). This barren area in the western hills was chosen due to its relative isolation and proximity to the capital. This necropolis is said to hold more than 70 tombs. Nefertari Tomb
